Questions We Get Asked A Lot
Will the print peel, crack, or fade after washing?
No — and this is the #1 concern we take seriously. We use DTG (direct-to-garment) eco-ink printing, not heat-transfer vinyl. The ink bonds directly into the cotton fibers, so there's no rubbery layer to peel off. We follow a professional heat-cure process after printing. Wash inside-out in cold water and tumble dry low to keep it looking sharp for years. Many of our customers have washed their shirts 10+ times with zero fading.
How big will the print be on my shirt? Will it look small?
We scale the design to fill your shirt — not a tiny square in the center. The portrait takes up the majority of the front panel. On larger sizes (2XL–4XL) we specifically ensure the artwork grows with the shirt so there's no empty space around it. You'll see the exact size in your proof before we print anything.
Can I control how my photos are arranged? What if I don't like the layout?
Absolutely. In your order notes, tell us exactly what you want: which photo should be centered, whether you want full-body or face-only, if you prefer a grid collage or a single portrait. Our designers follow your instructions. If the proof doesn't look right — we revise for free, unlimited times, until you love it. We never rearrange photos without your approval.
Does the shirt run small? What size should I order?
Comfort Colors 1717 has a relaxed, slightly oversized unisex fit — it does not run small in the traditional sense, but it is more generous than a fitted tee. If you want a fitted look, size down. If you love an oversized cozy fit, order your normal size or go up. Check the size chart above for exact chest and length measurements.
What if my photo is dark, blurry, or low resolution?
Send us the best photo you have and our designers will do their best to work with it. For the sharpest result, use a well-lit, front-facing photo where the face is clearly visible. If your photo has quality issues that would affect the final print, we'll let you know in the proof and give you the chance to send a better one before anything goes to print.
Will my order arrive in time for Mother's Day?
Our team emails your design proof within 24 hours of your order — we don't start production until you approve it. After approval, standard US delivery takes 7–12 business days. For time-sensitive orders, choose Express Shipping at checkout and order as early as possible. Ordering close to the date? Email support@hopicustom.com and we'll do our best to prioritize your order.
What if the colors look different in person vs. on screen?
Some variation is normal — every screen displays colors differently, and garment-dyed Comfort Colors fabric has a naturally soft, slightly muted tone compared to a bright digital preview. We print true-to-file, so what our designer creates in your proof is what gets printed. If you want extra-vibrant colors, let us know in the proof notes and we can adjust the file before printing.
What is your refund policy for custom items?
Because every shirt is made-to-order, we cannot accept returns for buyer's remorse or incorrect size selection. However, if there is a print defect, misalignment, or error on our part, we will reprint or refund your order — no questions asked.
